It's been a busy month with our new sweet boy Landon and I've had so many questions about baby products we've been using. I wanted to share these top 5 baby products because we've been using them religiously, and I know new parents could benefit from them too!!
Soothies Cooling Gel Pads The first week of breastfeeding was painful and my nipples were tender, cracked and bled at times. A friend of mine gave these to me as a gift before Landon’s birth so I thought I’d give them a try and my gosh, they were LIFE SAVING. I immediately purchased a few more packs! I wore them pretty much 24/7 during the first couple weeks. They stick right to your breasts and can be worn inside your bra without any added bulk. I would take them off for feeds and reapply them right once we finished for an instant soothing relief. Now my nipples are completely healed and I don’t have any need for them right now, but if you are planning on breastfeeding or pumping, these are an absolute must! Side note, if you’re looking for extra relief, you can always put your gel pads in the fridge!
Honest Soothing Bottom Wash You’re going to need this one, because diaper rashes are inevitable. I was heartbroken for Landon with his first diaper rash as I could tell it would irritate his bum every time I would wipe. I found this soothing spray which I would spray onto his bum before changing him. Since it contains ingredients like aloe vera and witch hazel, it’s soothing but also makes wiping a lot easier, especially on sensitive and irritated skin. I’ve also paired this with the Honest Diaper Rash Cream which helped with the healing process.
Hatch Rest Sound Machine & Night Light We’ve been using the Hatch Sound Machine & Night Light every night since Landon was born. It has many sounds and colors of light to choose from, plus, you can program it right to your phone where you can easily control these settings. I found the light has been so helpful with night time feeds and changes. I don’t want to turn on his very bright bedroom light and interrupt his sleep patterns (those bright lights may reduce melatonin and ultimately make it more difficult for him to fall back asleep). So the Hatch works perfectly to allow me to see without it being too bright. It also has a time-to-rise feature for when Landon is a toddler. This will let him know when it’s time to get out of bed. We’ll be trying this out in the future - I’ll keep you posted ;) There is also an even more advanced version that includes a two-way audio monitor and LED Clock. We didn’t need those additional features, but it may be helpful for some parents!
Burt's Bee's Bodysuits Landon has been living in these Burt’s Bee’s Bodysuits! They are the perfect loungewear for all of the hanging out at home we’ve been doing. They come in a package of 5 which we need since this little guy can get pretty dirty - so having an extra fresh tee to change into is perfect to have on hand so I don’t have to completely change his whole outfit. Trust me, having multiple of the same bodysuit is SO ESSENTIAL. The tops are also made 100% of cotton and GOTS certified . We also have the 3-6 month long sleeve bodysuits ready for when the colder months come!
Mini Stroller Fan My OB encouraged me to start walking as soon as I felt comfortable to do so. I waited about a week postpartum until I felt my body was ready. I was excited to take Landon along for walks but the days have been hot and humid and I wanted to make sure he doesn’t overheat. These mini stroller fan is the perfect accessory that you can easily attach to your stroller or even if you’re just hanging outside on a hot day with your little babe. It has 3 wind settings and charges quickly with a USB cable. Genius invention!
